Crochet Poppy Top!

Living in a beach town, I love taking an afternoon stroll to the ocean. After careful redesign, the Poppy Top has become my go to outfit for such an occasion! Paired with a flowy skirt, it’s the perfect balance of fun & flirty.

The Poppy Top was one of my first designs. Inspired by the beautiful flowers I saw during my trip to Grass Mountain, this crochet piece is made by connecting rows of petal like stitches.

When I started crocheting I had trouble getting my tops to fit different body types. The cups would be to small or the body would be to big. That’s when I decided to try lacing them up the front! Turned out I was able to get them to fit multiple people better & the design was a little more exciting.

But I wasn’t 100% happy with the design. I still wanted it to look a little nicer & fit a little better. After some searching, I found the perfect yarn! For this style, my now go to yarn is Katia Cotton Stretch. The added stretch allowed for further size flexibility & comfort! Plus it is a light worsted weight yarn, so the top is much more delicate & feminine.

I hope you like how it turned out! To get your own Poppy Top check out my Etsy!  I am also wearing  a skirt from one of my favorite Australian designers, Spell & The Gypsy Collective. They always have the most beautiful clothing, check out similar styles here! And because every outfit isn’t complete without a 3ed piece, I tossed on my The Stardust fedora from Lack of Color.
