Relaxing & Rejuvenating at Integratron!

As I was planing my trip to Joshua Tree, I wanted to check out what other attractions were in the area. I remembered seeing photos of this strange dome building in the desert, & began stocking Instagram to learn more. Unsure exactly what it was, I soon learned this place was called Integratron & people went there for Sound Baths. I am always open to trying different methods of relaxation (who doesn’t want to feel more peaceful & rejuvenated?) So I organized a trip to Integratron! Desert X- Mirage

Mirror mirror on the wall who’s the fairest one of all? Well when it comes to the 2017 Desert X installations, id say Mirage by Doug Aitken takes the cake! This place was packed when I went. There were even people filming a video! But I am so glad I made the stop. Despite the crowds this was beautiful & worth the trip!

Moorten Botanical Garden

For as long as I can remember my family & I have been going to Palm Springs. That is why when I heard of Moorten Botanical Garden for the first time last year I was shocked I hadn’t discovered this magical place sooner!  Continue reading “Moorten Botanical Garden”

Desert X – The Circle of Land & Sky

For as long as I can remember art has held a special place in my heart. When I was very young my mom painted the walls of my bedroom to look like a garden. She even painted pretty scenes at my preschool. When I was in elementary school we did The Pageant of the Arts! It was a show the 4th & 5th graders put on. Each kid would get a costume & learn a dance that matched a famous Artist’s painting. Together we put on a performance that would bring the art to life & taught us the value of art at a very young age. Continue reading “Desert X – The Circle of Land & Sky”

A Quick Trip to Colorado

Denver Colorado is full of breweries serving up flights of different beers. It’s the perfect place for a social drinker like myself or the most experienced beer connoisseur. So when my boyfriend said he wanted to visit one of his friends in Denver, I was in!

Let me start by saying drinking beer is not my favorite activity. I love the social aspects, but typically I get sick of drinking after a brew or two. However, I LOVE samples. And whether it’s at Baskin Robbins or a Brewery,  I’ll try every flavor they give me!

Hiking Grass Mountain

About this time last year I saw an amazing photo on Instagram of a girl in a field of golden poppies. It looked like it was out of The Wizard of Oz. After some searching I discovered that this magical place was not far from me! These hills of poppies were just past Santa Barbara, CA. About 45 minuets away from a trip I planed to Solvang, CA, I decided to hit the trail on my way home. Little did I know what I was in store for!

Before & After Backpacking Havasupai

Steve & I were super excited for our first Backpacking Trip but we wanted to use the time off work to see as much of Arizona as possible. We left Seal Beach, CA at 4:00am! Arizona does not have daylight savings time so we had to leave earlier than ideal. From there, we drove through Nevada, Utah & finally made it to Northern Arizona just in time for our tour 2:20pm tour at Antelope Canyon. Of course I brought some crochet to work on during the drive.

Backpacking Havasupai

I always loved spending time outdoors & hiking. Growing up I was in Girl Scouts and spent most of my summer breaks at camp. I loved it. Turns out, not much has changed. I am still a sucker for a good hike or outdoor adventure! So naturally, when I first saw photos of Havasupai I was dying to go! Thus began the planning process of my first backpacking trip!
